MIAMI – The Miami Marlins today announced two additions to the executive business leadership team, as appointed by Principal Owner Bruce Sherman and Marlins President of Business Caroline O’Connor: Jon Erik Alvarez – Vice President, Public Relations & Communications and Benjamin Lash – Vice President & General Counsel.
“Ben and Jon Erik are talented leaders in our organization that will serve as great additions to our executive team,” said Ms. O’Connor. “These individuals bring exceptional expertise in their fields and strong connections to the South Florida community, along with a deep commitment to our organization’s continued growth and values.”
Entering his 15th year with the Marlins, Mr. Alvarez will oversee all of the organization’s internal and external communication efforts. This includes baseball information, corporate communications, player and alumni relations, and broadcasting. A native of Miami, Fla., he possesses a deep understanding of South Florida’s media and sports landscape. Mr. Alvarez also exemplifies the passion and dedication that the role requires.
Mr. Lash will oversee all legal affairs of the Marlins and loanDepot park. This will include providing broad-based legal support across the organization and leading the drafting, reviewing, and negotiating of business- and baseball-related contracts. Additionally, he will provide legal guidance and counsel to the executive leadership team. A native of Miami, Fla., Mr. Lash enters his fifth season with the organization, having previously joined the Marlins from an international law firm.
