MIAMI MARLINS AGREE TO ONE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH 1B JESUS AGUILAR

The Miami Marlins have signed 1B Jesus Aguilar to a one-year contract for the 2022 season with a mutual option for the 2023 season. 

Aguilar, 31, appeared in 131 games in 2021, hitting .261 with 22 home runs and 93 RBI. He was tied for 2nd in National League and tied for 8th in all of Major League Baseball in RBI before a season-ending knee injury on September 5. 

An All-Star in 2018, the native of Maracay, Venezuela, is a .260 hitter with 93 home runs and 342 RBI in 630 career games over eight Major League seasons.
