Miami Marlins Acquire Austin Jackson from Atlanta Braves

MIAMI – The Miami Marlins today acquired C Alex Jackson from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for OF Adam Duvall.

Jackson, 25, has batted .287 with 11 home runs and 36 RBI in 30 games for Triple-A Gwinnett this season, also appearing in 10 games at the Major League level.

A first-round pick (6th overall) in 2014 by Seattle, Jackson was ranked the No. 20 overall prospect by Baseball America and the No. 28 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline in 2015 before being acquired by the Braves after the 2016 season. He has played in 19 Major League games over three seasons (2019-21) and is a .237 hitter with 87 home runs and 316 RBI in 501 Minor League games.

Jackson made his MLB debut on April 7, 2019 and was Atlanta’s starting catcher on Opening Day last season.
