POSTGAME NOTES
W ADDLE BECOMES FIFTH DOLPHINS ROOKIE TO CATCH 2+ TDs IN A GAME
• WR Jaylen Waddle totaled 10 receptions for 70 yards (7.0 avg.) and two touchdowns today.
• He became the fifth rookie in Dolphins history to catch multiple touchdowns in a game, joining WR Preston
Williams, WR Jarvis Landry, WR Melvin Baker and WR Chris Chambers.
o Chambers accomplished the feat three times in his rookie year of 2001.
• Waddle also caught double-digit passes today. Paired with his 12 receptions in Week 3 at Las Vegas, Waddle
becomes the first player in Dolphins history to have multiple 10+ reception games as a rookie.
o Waddle is the fifth player of any experience level in Dolphins history to have multiple double-digit reception
games, joining WR Jarvis Landry, WR Brandon Marshall, WR O.J. McDuffie and RB Tony Nathan.
• Waddle entered today second among NFL rookies in receptions with 27. With his 10 today, that gives him 37 for the
season.
o Pittsburgh RB Najee Harris had the rookie lead with 28 entering Week 6.

GESICKI LEADS TEAM TODAY WITH 115 RECEIVING YARDS
• TE Mike Gesicki led all players in today’s game with 115 receiving yards on eight receptions (14.4 avg.). It marked
the second time in his career he’s totaled at least 100 yards receiving in a game.
• Gesicki’s total moved him into fifth place on the team’s all-time tight end receiving charts, surpassing TE Charles
Clay (1,809 yards):

WILKINS RECORDS STRIP – SACK TURNOVER
• DT Christian Wilkins stripped Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence of the ball on a second-down snap in the third
quarter. DT Zach Sieler recovered the fumble.
• It was the first forced fumble of Wilkins’ career and came against his former college teammate as Lawrence played
with Wilkins at Clemson in 2018.
• Wilkins now has two sacks this season, matching his career high from 2019.
• The Dolphins entered today tied for fourth in the NFL with four fumble recoveries before Sieler added the fifth
today.


DOLPHINS OPEN GAME WITH 13 – PLAY, 75 – YARD TOUCHDOWN DRIVE
• Miami received the opening kickoff and went 75 yards on 13 plays in 7:15 to take a 7-0 first-quarter lead.
• QB Tua Tagovailoa was 8-of-10 for 76 yards on the possession, including the 6-yard touchdown pass to WR Jaylen
Waddle.
• It was the second time this season Miami has opened the game with a touchdown drive after doing so on Sept. 12,
2021 at New England.
• It was the Dolphins’ longest scoring possession in terms of time (7:15) since Dec. 26, 2020 at Las Vegas. The last
time Miami had a 13+ play scoring drive was on Sept. 26, 2021 at Las Vegas.
• The last time Miami opened a game with a touchdown drive that long in duration was Sept. 12, 2011 when Miami
had a 12-play, 84-yard touchdown drive that took 7:18 off the clock.
• The score was Tagovailoa’s first since Week 1 at New England. He returned to action today after missing the past
three games on injured reserve.
• For Waddle, it was the second touchdown of his career. He also caught a 3-yard touchdown from Tagovailoa in the
season opener at New England.
