Miami Dade offers seminar and Miami-Dade to offer Uber solution

Miami-Dade is seeking offering a seminar for entrepreneurs

From David Volz

Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust (MDEAT) is inviting entrepreneurs seeking capital for their businesses to Access Granted, a game-changing seminar series tailored exclusively for small business owners. MDEAT, an agency committed to ensuring Black residents participate in the County’s economic growth, will launch the first of four workshops on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at North Dade Regional Library at 2455 N.W. 183rd Street in Miami Gardens. The agency designed the content-rich seminars to elevate grant application skills and arm entrepreneurs for MDEAT’s imminent $10,000 grant program roll-out.

“Access Granted embodies our commitment to empowering small business owners within our community. This seminar is more than a workshop. It’s a transformative gateway, equipping entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge essential to conquer the world of grants,” said Bill Diggs, MDEAT executive director. “In addition to opening doors, MDEAT endeavors to provide keys to success. Join us, seize this opportunity, and together, let’s unlock a future filled with prosperity and growth.”

Access Granted community workshops empower attendees to gain insights on best grant application practices, network with successful grant recipients and fellow Miami-Dade County-based entrepreneurs, and build connections and explore collaborative opportunities.

Miami-Dade to announce free Uber solution

From David Volz

Miami-Dade County’s Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) announces that a free Uber solution is now live and accessible for MetroBus riders who were impacted by the rollout of the recently launched Better Bus Network. After the launch in November, Miami-Dade County has collected significant feedback from riders and other stakeholders and announced solutions to support those impacted by route changes, including an Uber voucher program, expanded MetroConnect service, continued partnerships with municipalities, and additional community listening sessions.

“Since the launch of the Better Bus Network, we have been listening closely to our riders and bus operators alike, collecting feedback on wait times, ease of access, and alternative mobility options,” said Mayor Levine Cava. “While many riders have seen increased reliability on their routes, we understand the need for accessible transportation options for all. We are excited to roll out these additional measures as a testament to our commitment to transit users, ensuring no one is left behind as we refine and improve our public transportation system.”
