MGolf – Hay wins Matlock Collegiate Classic, Sharks Place Second

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Sharks Men’s Golf team completed play at the Matlock Collegiate Classic on Tuesday afternoon. As a team, the Sharks placed second overall (+11) in the 15-team field, while Mike Hay (-3) earned the first individual win of his collegiate career.

How it Happened
  • Mike Hay, beginning on hole five, began the final round with seven pars and a pair of birdies in his first nine holes. He ended the round with eight consecutive pars, jumping six spots up the leaderboard, and shot a 71, recording the first individual win of his Nova Southeastern career. 
  • Joseba Torres finished the tournament tied for 12th and recorded three birdies on Tuesday. 
  • Will McGhie ended the Matlock Collegiate Classic tied for 15th, totaling 10 pars in his final round. 
  • Jorge Berea (T34th) and Ivan Ponsdomenech (T55th) combined for 20 pars and six birdies in the final round.
