Men’s Swimming: Lynn University’s Masmoudi Earns SSC Freshman of the Year

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Lynn University’s Malek Masmoudi garnered Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Freshman of the Year plaudits on Thursday afternoon. 

Masmoudi earns Freshman of the Year honors in the men’s swimming program’s inaugural season. He claimed the top spot in the 1650-free at the 2020 SSC Championships, notching the men’s program’s first gold medal in its first official season of competition. He also took bronze in the 500-free and had NCAA ‘B’ cut times in the 500-free, 1000-free and 1650-free.

A native of Tunis, Tunisia, Masmoudi was the first-ever All-SSC honoree for Lynn men’s swimming and represented the program at the 2020 National Championships.
