CLEARWATER, Fla. – Lynn University’s men’s swimming team competed for its third day at the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Championships on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:· Evening Session
- Malek Masmoudi earned the first-ever medal for the men’s program with a third-place finish in the 500-free ‘A’ final (4:28.19).
- Thomas Labarias took 10th in the 100-back (50.50).
- Ignacio Alvarez and Aleksander Olejnik were back-to-back in the 100-breast, finishing 10th and 11, respectively.
· Morning Session
- Masmoudi had the second-best time in the 500-free (4:29.00), an NCAA ‘B’ cut time.
- David Romeo and Brad Jacobs also swam the 500-free (4:48.14).
- Labarias was 10th in the 100-back (50.99).
- Dalton Brown, Hunter Smith and Jacob Wootten also swam the 100-back.
- Cameron Dunne raced the 200-fly (2:05.87).
- Alvarez and Olejnik were 11th and 13th, respectively, in the 100-breaststroke.
- Daniel Varon and Julian Perez rounded out Lynn’s morning competitors in the 100-breaststroke.
