Men’s Soccer Continues Ascent in National Rankings

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University’s men’s soccer team continues to climb the national polls as the Fighting Knights are now ranked third in Division II, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday afternoon.

The Blue and White continued their winning ways over the past week, downing No. 21 Palm Beach Atlantic and Tampa in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action. Levin Sandmann was recognized by the SSC as its Offensive Player of the Week after tallying five total points (2G, 1A) in Lynn’s two matches.

Lynn has now won five straight SSC matches and six in-a-row overall. From the SSC, Florida Tech and Palm Beach Atlantic join the Blue and White in the top-25, ranked sixth and 22nd, respectively.

Florida Tech, at 9-0-1, and Lynn are the last two remaining undefeated squads in the SSC, setting the stage for a pivotal clash on Nov. 6, in Melbourne, Fla. The Fighting Knights downed a ranked-Florida Tech on Oct. 17, 2018, claiming the 2-1 victory at home.

Head coach John Rootes’ men travel to Embry-Riddle on Saturday, Oct. 26, for a tilt with the Eagles in Daytona Beach, Fla. at 7 p.m.
