Men’s Golf to Tee Off in Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate

Following a third-place finish in the Florida Gator Invitational, the Bulls head to Nevada.

TAMPA, FLA., February 23, 2024 – The University of South Florida men’s Golf team travels to Henderson, Nev. to compete in the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate in the second event of Spring schedule. The Bulls, who started the Spring with an official third place finish in the Florida Gator Invitational, are led by head coach Steve Bradley, the five-time AAC Coach of the Year is in his 10th season.

In Gainesville, the Bulls carried over momentum from their record-setting Fall slate that saw the Bulls win back-to-back tournaments as a team and had consecutive individual winners at the same tournaments. USF posted a 283 (+3) in the final round in Gainesville and moved up two spots into an official third place finish. Florida fielded two teams in the event, only one counts in the official results. The Bulls have now placed in the top four in four straight events for the 2023-24 season.

The Bulls will compete in a 17-team field that will include host Arkansas State, Little Rock, Long Beach State, Middle Tennessee St., New Mexico State, North Texas, Northern Illinois, Santa Clara, South Alabama, Southern Illinois, Stetson, Texas State, UAB, UNCW, Utah Tech and VCU.

In the 54-hole event, the field will begin play with 18 holes on Monday, February 26, followed by 18 holes on Tuesday, February 27 and will finish with 18 holes on Wednesday, February 28.

The Bulls’ charge in 2023-24 is led by Jake Peacock, a member 2022-23 AAC Men’s Golf All-Conference team. Peacock shot 205 (-5) to finish in a tie for sixth in Gainesville. He shot par or better in all three rounds, recording his fifth top 10 finish as a Bull and his second of the season to go along with a tie fourth in the USF Invitational at 209 (-7).

Head Coach Steve Bradley announced the following competitors for the Bulls in Nevada:

Jake Peacock (Jr., Milton, Ga.),Sam Nicholson (Sr., Atlantic Beach, Fla.), Brock Healy (Gr., Norcross, Ga.), Cooper Smith (Redshirt Jr., Tampa, Fla.), Shubham Jaglan (Jr., Delhi, India) and individual Wilhelm Ryding (Fr., Tyreso, Sweden).

About USF Men’s Golf
The USF men’s golf program has captured 17 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won five American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four-consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had four individual conference champions, including Albin Bergstrom in 2021, and gone on to earn nine straight NCAA Regional appearances, including a 6th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 22 tournament wins under Bradley entering the 2023-24 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
