Men’s Basketball – Walsh Sparks #1 Sharks to win over Keiser

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The top-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks Men’s Basketball team added another victory to the ledger, extending the program’s winning streak to 44 consecutive games, by defeating Keiser 103-73 on Wednesday evening from the Rick Case Arena.

Ryan Walsh, providing a spark off the bench, went a perfect 6-6 from beyond the arc and scored a game-high 22 points in the effort. Shane Hunter recorded his first double-double of the season, tallying 16 points and 10 rebounds.

How it Happened

First Half – The Sharks got off to a hot start, taking an 11-6 lead over the Seahawks with a dunk from Shane HunterTrey Doomes scored seven consecutive points and started a 24-3 run, putting NSU in front 38-13 over Keiser. During the lengthy run, which spanned nearly half the first half, featured contributions from Doomes, Hunter, Ryker CisarikMJ Iraldi, and Mike Moore. The Sharks closed the first half with a 48-29 advantage over Keiser.

Second Half – Iraldi scored four of the first six points to open the second half, extending the lead to 54-34. Ryan Walsh knocked down a pair of three-point buckets and scored nine straight points for the Sharks, pushing the lead to 75-49. Walsh added three more three-point makes in the second half, going 5-5 in the second frame and 6-6 in the contest, as Nova Southeastern took 90-66 lead over Keiser. NSU closed out the contest with a 103-73 win, earning the program’s 44th consecutive win and 49th straight win at the Rick Case Arena.
