Men’s Basketball: Rollins 80, Lynn 69

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn men’s basketball was looking to get back into the Sunshine State Conference win column against Rollins. The Tars outscored the Fighting Knights by nine in the second half to halt the return to the winning ways, 80-69.

STATS OF THE GAME:

–          Against the Tars zone defense, Brandon Bornelus carried the Lynn offense with 23 points. He made seven triples.

–          Christian Peevy added 18 and eight.

–          Branden Ellis was back in the starting lineup and scored 11 points.

–          Darius Moore was also back in action, coming off the bench he had four assists.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

–          The 23 points for Bornelus is just one shy of his career-high of 24. His seven made three pointers are the most in any single game over his Lynn career.

–          Only Jordan Allen has made more three’s in a game for the Fighting Knights this season.

UP NEXT:
After three-straight at home, Lynn hits the road for a pair starting with a trip to Tampa on Saturday. The Spartans are just 4-12 this season and coming off a loss to Florida Tech on Wednesday night.
