BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn men’s basketball suffered a trio of heartbreaking defeats to Nova Southeastern last season and Wednesday night was their first chance and getting past the Sharks this season. Behind 22 points from Christian Peevy and a clutch three-pointer from freshman Jamison Evans the Fighting Knights snapped their losing streak against Nova beating the No. 4 ranked Sharks, 78-75.

STATS OF THE GAME:
– Peevy added four rebounds and three assists to go with his game-high in points.
– Brandon Bornelus got the start, but it was the second half where he made his impact felt. He scored 21 total points and 12 of those came in the final 20 minutes.
– Jordan Allen got Lynn off to a hot start with his 15 first-half points, he finished with 18. He was also a factor on the glass grabbing a game-high 14 rebounds all on the defensive end.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
– Nova came into play leading the nation in scoring at 109.9 points per game, Lynn held them 34 points under their average.
– It was the first time Lynn has defeated Nova at home since 2016.
– It matches the highest-ranked team the Fighting Knights have ever beaten. They also beat No. 4 Rollins in 2008.
– This game being decided by one possession now means 11 of the last 15 meetings between the two teams have been decided by less than 10 points.

Lynn has only a short amount of time to bask in the glory of this victory, they are back on the court Saturday when they host Saint Leo at 4 p.m. The Lions will be coming in rested having not played since they lost to Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday.
