MBB: Temple Takes Rematch over South Florida

TAMPA, FLA., FEB. 24, 2021 – Khalif Battle scored 22 points with six rebounds and four assists to lead Temple to a 65-47 victory over South Florida on Wednesday at the Yuengling Center.

Jeremiah Williams added 11 points and J.P. Moorman scored 10 points off the bench to help the Owls snap a six-game losing streak.

Justin Brown (Atlanta, Ga.) led USF with 16 points, six rebounds and three steals, while David Collins (Youngstown, Ohio) finished with 13 points to move into seventh place all-time at USF with 1,481 career points.

Temple used a 12-3 run midway through the first half, capped by back-to-back three-pointers from Moorman, to go ahead 21-12. USF responded with an 8-0 run minutes later to pull even following a trey by Brown. The Owls regained the lead on the ensuing possession and took a four-point lead at halftime.

Temple outscored USF 17-4 and held the Bulls without a field goal for the first seven minutes of the second half to build a 51-34 lead.

• David Collins scored 13 points and moved into seventh place all-time at USF with 1,481 career points.         
• Prince Oduro pulled down a season-high six rebounds to help USF outrebound Temple 37-33. 
• Justin Brown made four three-pointers and moved into a tie for fourth place all-time at USF with 183.
