BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic’s men’s basketball team will host Memphis in the final regular season game of the year. Tip-off at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena will be at 12 p.m., airing nationally on CBS. Fans attending are asked to wear red.
The Owls take on the Tigers for the third time in less than a calendar year, in which the teams have split 1-1. Florida Atlantic defeated Memphis on March 17, 2023 on a last-second layup by sophomore guard Nick Boyd to give them their first NCAA Tournament win in program history. The two teams faced off earlier this regular season on February 25, in which Memphis won 78-74 despite 20-point outings from junior center Vlad Goldin and junior guard Johnell Davis.
FAU will look to win their 12th straight game at the Elly to finish the season 13-1 at home.

SENIOR DAY
Saturday’s game will also mark Senior Day. 15 minutes prior to the game, senior guards Jalen GaffneyBryan Greenlee, and Brandon Weatherspoon will be recognized for their contributions to the program. Between the three, all major contributors to the team’s first Final Four run, they have played a combined 289 games and have started in 184 of them. Greenlee (2020-pres.) has the most games played (125) and started (103) among all active Owls with a career average of 8.1 points per game. Greenlee is also one of only 14 players in program history to reach 1,000 career points. Gaffney (2022-pres.) played the fifth most minutes and finished second on the team in assists in 2022-23. Weatherspoon (2021-pres.) has made 42 starts over the past two seasons and seen his minutes increase each year, averaging a career high 7.2 points on 35% shooting from beyond the arc in the 2023-24 campaign.
LAST TIME OUT
Florida Atlantic defeated North Texas, 80-76, in their final road game of the regular season. Davis led the way with 29 points on efficient 10-for-15 shooting. Boyd added 13 points, all coming in the second half as the Owls shot 53.2% from the field on the night against a top 10 scoring defense in the nation.
