FORT WORTH, Texas – Florida Atlantic’s men’s basketball team will begin their postseason journey on Friday at 7 p.m. EST for their first game of the 2024 American Athletic Conference Tournament. The game will air on ESPNU.
The No. 2 seeded Owls earned a bye from the first two days of the tournament and will now take on the winner of Thursday night’s matchup between the No. 7 seed North Texas and No. 10 Tulane. Florida Atlantic has a combined 4-0 record between the two teams.

The Owls closed out the regular season with their third straight victory, 12th straight at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena, taking down Memphis by a score of 92-84. On Senior Day, senior guards Bryan GreenleeJalen Gaffney, and Brandon Weatherspoon combined for 36 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists. Greenlee, the longest tenured of the three, led the way with a season-high 21 points on 6-for-8 shooting, 5-for-6 from downtown. Vlad Goldin recorded his eighth double-double of the season with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Junior guard Johnell Davis was named the Co-AAC Player of the Year following a season leading the Owls with 18.2 points per game on 47.9% shooting from the field and 43.8% from downtown, as well as averaging 3.1 assists and 6.3 rebounds. Davis was the only unanimous selection on the All-AAC first teamJunior center Vlad Goldin and junior guard Alijah Martin made the All-AAC second team. Goldin’s career-best regular season ended with six out of eight games scoring 20+ points on his way to a 15.2 points per game average on 66.7% shooting (third in the nation) with 6.8 rebounds, while Martin averaged 14.2 points 6.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals in conference playOut of 14 AAC teams, FAU finished first in points per game (83.0) and field goal percentage (47.9%), and are second in three-point field goal percentage (36.2%) and assists per game (15.4). They ranked fourth in rebounds (38.2) and had the fourth least amount of turnovers per game (11.0)
The Owls are 10-0 when they have reached 90+ points this season. They rank 15th in the nation in scoring (83.0)
With a 59-11 record over the past two seasons, Florida Atlantic is tied for the second most wins in the nation
