BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic’s men’s basketball team (17-4, 7-1 AAC) has moved up to No. 20 in the Associated Press Top 25, as announced by the AP on Monday.
This marks the 14th consecutive week the Owls find themselves in the rankings, the 10th longest streak in the nation.
Florida Atlantic, amid a season-long six-game win streak, finished 2-0 on the week with a 69-56 road victory over Rice on Wednesday, Jan. 24 followed by a 66-63 win at home against North Texas on Sunday, Jan. 28 thanks to a last-second three-point shot by junior guard Johnell Davis.
The Owls remain tied at the top of the American Athletic Conference standings with a 7-1 conference record. Among all 14 teams in the conference, FAU leads in three-point field goal percentage (36.8) and ranks second in points per game (82.5), assists (15.2), and field goal percentage (48.6%).Nationwide, Florida Atlantic ranks 24th in field goal percentage, 25th in points per game, and are tied for 49th in percentage from beyond the arc. No team in Division I has more wins than the Owls since the start of the 2022 season, with 52 victories to their name.UP NEXTFAU will host Tulsa at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena on Saturday, Feb. 3.
