MARLINS SIGN OUTFIELDER ADAM DUVALL

2016 All-Star finished tied for third in the NL with 16 home runs in 2020

MIAMI – The Miami Marlins today announced the signing of OF Adam Duvall to a one-year contract with a mutual option for 2022. Duvall played in 57 games for the Atlanta Braves in 2020, hitting .237 with 16 home runs, eight doubles and 33 RBI. He ranked tied for third in the National League in home runs and 15th in slugging percentage (.532).

The 32-year-old was an 11th-round pick in the 2010 MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants and has played in parts of seven Major League seasons with the Giants, Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves. He was named a National League All-Star in 2016 while with Cincinnati, finishing among the NL leaders with 33 home runs (T-6th) and 103 RBI (5th). Duvall followed his 2016 season with 31 home runs and 99 RBI in 2017.

A three-time Rawlings Gold Glove Award finalist, Duvall started 45 games in left field and 17 games in right field in 2020. In 175 career games against National League East division foes, Duvall has posted 36 home runs and 95 RBIs.

To make room on the 40-man roster RHP Jeff Brigham was added to the 60-day Injured List.
