Margaritaville night, Shelldon bobblelegs giveaway highlight ‘Tugas three-game homestand

Best Dressed Uniforms, special food and drink items on Friday; Shelldon bobble & birthday celebration Saturday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Daytona Tortugas return home to Jackie Robinson Ballpark on Friday, July 22, for a brief three-game series against the Palm Beach Cardinals, the Florida State League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. Among the highlights of the three contests is a Margaritaville Night, featuring special food and drink items and Best Dressed Uniforms, on Friday and Shelldon’s birthday bash on Saturday including our first bobblehead giveaway of the season.

After the All-Star Break, the Tortugas advise fans to find their lost shaker of salt at The Jack to open the homestand on Friday, July 22, with Margaritaville Night. Floral Best Dressed Uniforms will be sported by Tortugas’ players and coaches that will be auctioned off during the season. At the concession stands, fans will be able to enjoy unique Food and Drink Specials as part of the occasion. This will include traditional style, strawberry, blue margaritas, and Shelly’s Beach Burger — a classic cheeseburger with Havarti cheese, sliced grilled pineapples, and chipotle aioli — at The Hot Corner along the third-base line. Cincinnati chili and cheese popcorn are also on the Friday night menu. Prior to the first pitch, fans will also be able to enjoy Live Music from Mike & Vin on the third-base riverwalk. Friday Night Happy Hour comes back to the ballpark, too, with special discounts on select draft beers at the concession stands. The first pitch of the series opener is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

One of our most popular giveaways of the season returns on Saturday, July 23, as the Tortugas celebrate Shelldon’s Birthday with a Shelldon Bobble-legs Giveaway. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will take home Daytona’s first bobblehead giveaway of the season.  We encourage patrons to bring their furry friends to the ballpark for another Bark in the Park Night. Fans can purchase a ‘Pooch Pass’ for just $2 at the gate and a doggie yogurt (bananas, peanut butter, plain yogurt) at concession stands. Food and Drink Specials include a non-alcoholic, key-lime style Shellabration Punch with an alcoholic version available at the beer corner. Birthday funnel fries are also on the menu alongside Shelldon’s Delight ice cream in the main concession stand to celebrate the festivities. The Tortugas salute our medical professionals with Healthcare Heroes Night featuring discounted tickets through the appropriate FEVO link. City of Deltona Night will also have discounted tickets for residents through the necessary FEVO link. The penultimate contest of the series is set to begin at 7:05 p.m.

The homestand comes to a close on Sunday, July 24, with Shelldon’s Family Fun Day. Members of the brand-new kids and family plan receive tickets to every Sunday home game in addition to a Tortugas’ hat, a meal voucher — good for a free hot dog, popcorn, and small fountain drink — at the gates. After the final out, youngsters take the diamond with Kids Run The Bases presented by Neighbor’s Ice Cream Parlor. The series finale is penciled in for a 5:35 p.m. first pitch.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. for the series’ first two games. They will open at 4:30 p.m. for the finale on Sunday. Single-game tickets, group packages, season tickets, and more are currently available and can be purchased online at www.daytonatortugas.com or by calling the Tortugas’ Ticket Office at (386) 257-3172.
