Making Moves In The Middle Of Camp

By: Jeremy T. Ballreich

So about 3 p.m. Monday afternoon, Brad Holmes made a move to bolster the back up Quarterback position for the Detroit Lions. He goes and signs Teddy Bridgewater. Great move IMO.

When Teddy came into the league he led the Minnesota Vikings to a playoff berth. But an injury in the playoffs derailed him. He rehabbed to get back to health, ended up bouncing around the league, sometimes starting, sometimes a BU. But he is not as athletic as he was. And nowhere near as skilled as current QB Jared Goff. But as a back up, he is a very serviceable QB. Won games backing up Drew Brees in New Orleans a few years ago. Last year played 4 games for the Dolphins while Tua battled concussions. He was neither the reason they won or lost games. But didn’t move the needle back to a starter position as a QB.

Teddy Bridgewater has thrown 75 TDs and 47 INTs in his career. Now Lions fans do not have to so cringeworthy about the season if Goff gets injured.

We shall see Bridgewater as early as Friday versus the Giants this preseason in game action.
