BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University women’s golfer Helen Kreuzer has taken to the old adage of no days off after competing and winning the Hessen Ladies State Championship and participating in The Womens Amateur Championship, formerly known as the British Ladies Amateur, in the month of June.

The Bensheim, Germany, native posted rounds of 74-70-71 for a one-under par 215 to claim her first title at the Hessen.  After a windy opening round saw her tied for the lead, the First Team All-American pulled away by five strokes following her two-under par second round.  Kreuzer then birdied three of her final four holes on the third day to secure a 10-shot victory over Saint Leo alum, and 2017 National Player of the Year, Marie Coors.

At the Womens Amateur Championship, Kreuzer finished tied for 27th after stroke play, shooting rounds of 80-70 to advance to match play.  In her opening round match against Switzerland’s Gioia Carpinelli, a sophomore out of San Diego State University, the tandem would end 18 holes all square and need two additional playoff holes to decide the match.  In the end, Carppinelli snuck by the Blue and White’s top golfer.

Kreuzer guided the Fighting Knights to an incredible season in which the team won three tournaments, including the Sunshine State Conference Championship and NCAA South Regional.  Lynn also qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship for the first time since 2015.
