Lynn Women’s Soccer Falls at PBA

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Anna Shawley scored her first goal of the season in Lynn University’s women’s soccer team’s 3-1 setback at Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday night.

STATS OF THE GAME:·       Shawley’s equalizer in the 26th minute was her first tally since 2017, scoring off a corner kick from Crystal Ayn Hagberg.·       Lynn racked up 14 shots compared to PBA’s 13, but four big saves from PBA’s Madison Chiola kept the Blue and White off the scoreboard.·       The Sailfish offense struck for a goal before the half and then scored midway through the final 45:00 to take a decisive 3-1 lead.·       Anniina Sankoh fired off six shots to lead the Fighting Knights, trailed by Molly Bryans and Shawley with two each.·       Devan Malcolm had four saves on seven shots, playing the entire match.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:·       Both of Shawley’s career goals have come at PBA.·       Lynn has scored in 8-of-12 games in 2019.
