Lynn Women’s Golf Looking for Legendary End to Fall Season

Orlando, Fla. – Lynn University’s third-ranked women’s golf team is in fifth place after 36-holes of the Rollins Legends Invitational.  Matilda Wahren, though, heads into the final round holding a one-shot lead as the overall leader.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Blue and White knocked around a 308 total in the opening round and tied the second-round low score of 300 for a 608 36-hole mark.  Lynn is 12 shots back of the leader, Dallas Baptist (596).  Nova Southeastern (601) is second followed by Barry (604) and host Rollins (604).
  • Wahren ended the opening 18 holes one shot back after carding a one-under 71 and took the lead with a second round 74.  She sank four birdies in round one and locked in 16 pars and two bogeys in the latter half of the day.
  • Helen Kreuzer tallied scores of 77-76 for a 153 total to put her into a tie for 22nd.
  • Amber Lee Svendsen is tied for 31st after scores of 80-75.
  • Honor Keilty connected on scores of 80-78 for a 158 and Camila Ugalde Garcia made a nine-stroke improvement from rounds one to two with scores of 84-75.

BEYOND THE SCORECARD:

  • Lynn is second in total pars (106) and tied for third in par 4 scoring (+28).
  • Wahren’s 27 pars lead the field while she is tied for second in par five scoring (-2) and tied for third in par 4 scoring (+2).
  • Ugalde Garcia’s second round 75 ties a career-best while Svendsen’s 75 matched her season-best.
