Lynn Women’s Basketball Adds Two for 2020-21

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University’s women’s basketball program will welcome two new faces to Boca Raton for the 2020-21 campaign as head coach Julia Huddleston Tucker announced the signing of Rachel Romich and Kennedi Philson on Wednesday afternoon.

Rachel Romich
Freshman | Guard
Bradford, Mass. | Bradford Christian Academy

Romich, a sharpshooter from the Northeast, will join the Blue and White after a solid prep career at BCA, 45 minutes north of Boston. In 2018-19, Romich averaged 14.0 ppg for BCA, who won the NEPSAC Class C Championship, scoring 13 points in the title game.

From the Coaches: “Rachel will immediately add another three-point threat to our very strong roster. However, her ability and basketball IQ on defense, is what caught our eye first. Rachel plays with an intensity and grit that our entire program is built on and I can’t wait to have her here in Lynn Blue.”

Kennedi Philson
Freshman | Forward
Johns Creek, Ga. | Saint Francis High School

Philson, a stretch, power forward, was named Team MVP during her time at Chattahoochee High School, earned most improved player and all-region nods. She averaged 10.3 ppg and 6.2 rpg during the 2018-19 campaign, helping Saint Francis to advance to the Final Four of the GHSA Girls Basketball Tournament.

From the Coaches: “Kennedi is a dynamic post player that will make our roster even faster and more athletic the minute she gets here. Her relentless high motor is most impressive when you see her run the floor and defend anywhere on the court. Kennedi will give us another versatile player with the ability to score inside and out.”
