Colorado Springs, Colo. – Lynn University’s women’s swimming program has been the model of consistency academically, earning College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team recognition for the Spring 2019 semester.  This is the 12th consecutive semester the Fighting Knights have elicited Scholar All-America Team laurels.

Lynn posted a 3.51 grade point average for the spring semester, tied for 30th in Division II and second among Sunshine State Conference institutions.  Nova Southeastern (3.54) lead all league schools followed by Lynn, Florida Southern (3.49), Rollins (3.47), Florida Tech (3.45), Saint Leo (3.45) and Tampa (3.37).

CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart noted: “Coach Alvarez has built a program that represents Lynn University well – in the pool, the classroom and community.”

A record 480 institutions across all Divisions were Scholar All-America recipients while the 3.45 median GPA among women’s teams was the highest on record.  Emmanuel College led all Division II programs for the third time, earning a 3.80 GPA.

To earn the honor, teams were required to post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the spring semester and maintain a roster of 12 or more student-athletes.  Lynn has received Scholar All-America Team recognition every semester since the Fall of 2013. The program was not eligible in its first year of competition (2012-13).
