STATS OF THE GAME:

·         Game 1

o   Jameston (4-9) and Makaleigh Dooley (13-5) were phenomenal in the circle. Both pitchers went the distance while Jameston allowed one run on seven hits and struck out four for the Blue and White. Dooley tossed a no-hitter striking out five Fighting Knights.

o   The sixth inning was the only one to see a run cross the plate as Tampa scored off of a Maddie Farrell single to left center.

o   Shayle Arenson and Britney Purser reached base on a walk and an error, respectively. Purser also had a stolen base in the contest.

o   Tampa left nine runners on base compared to Lynn’s one runner left on.

·         Game 2

o   Game two was the same low-scoring affair as game one with the lone run being scored in the sixth inning. Tampa scored on a solo homerun off of the bat of Sam Worrell.

o   Saviskas got the nod for Lynn in game two, tossing her second consecutive complete game. She allowed one run on two hits and struck out two Spartans.

o   Dooley started in the circle for Tampa and allowed one hit through three innings. Corynn Miner (4-2) got the win in relief allowing no runs on two hits through the final four innings.

o   Mackenzie Wyatt, Kayla Sheffield and Purser all had base hits for the Blue and White. Sheffield’s base knock was a double.

o   Diaz was hit by a pitch twice.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

·         The two wins are the first consecutive 1-0 wins for Tampa this season. They had four consecutive shutout wins to start the season.

·         This is the first time since the 2007-08 season the Fighting Knights have suffered back-to-back 1-0 losses (Florida Southern, April 18 and 19).

·         The Spartan’s two hits tie a season low for the squad this season.

·         This was Saviskas’s second complete game of the season, she had none last year.

·         With Jameston’s complete game in game one, she has tied her total from last year with eight.

·         The Blue and White have hit a double during every home series this season.

·         Lynn was no-hit for the third time this season.

·         The Fighting Knights fall to 6-7 in one-run games this season.
