United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll
Kansas City, Mo. – Lynn University’s men’s soccer program will start the 2019 season ranked No. 12 nationally as announced by the United Soccer Coaches in its preseason poll. This is the fifth consecutive season the Fighting Knights have opened the season in the top-25.
Last year, Lynn saw its season cut short in the NCAA South Region title match by eventual national champions Barry in penalty kicks. The Blue and White ended the year 11-4-3 overall and 7-2-1 in the Sunshine State Conference.
Barry will open as the top-ranked team in the country followed by Cal-Poly Pomona, Fort Hays State and West Chester. Young Harris, Adelphi and Lander are all tied for fifth. Palm Beach Atlantic is the third SSC institution to be ranked, coming in at No. 10.
The Fighting Knights are reloading for 2019 following the losses of All-Americans Niklas Tasky and Jack Watson. Lynn welcomes in United Soccer Coaches All-American forward, and East Coast Conference Player of the Year, Lukas Ostermann as well as Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year Levin Sandmann, to go along with returning starters Shay Brennan, Lukas Borner and Rodrigo Fernandez.
Lynn’s season begins Thursday, Sept. 5, at 6 p.m. when it hosts Florida Memorial. Fans can watch the action live all year at LynnFightingKnights.com.
