Lynn Baseball’s Murray Tabbed Northwoods League All-Star

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Lynn University baseball’s Byron Murray has earned a spot on the 2019 Northwoods League (NWL) All-Star Game roster, selected as the starting second baseman for the Great Lakes Division squad.

Murray has hit .337 in 29 games with the Wisconsin Woodchucks, launching six home runs while adding three triples and eight doubles. His six homers are tied third most in the NWL while his 1.070 OPS and .674 slugging percentage are both second-best in the league.

The rising sophomore from Nassau, Bahamas batted .284 for the Fighting Knights in his freshman season with three home runs and 11 RBI. His .537 slugging percentage was third-best on Lynn and included homers in back-to-back conference games at Tampa, the 2019 NCAA DII National Champions.

The 2019 NWL All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday, July 16 in Waterloo, Iowa at 7:05 p.m. (CST) at Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium, home of the NWL’s Waterloo Bucks. Murray will also participate in the Home Run Derby, which will occur prior to the All-Star Game.
