Lynn Athletics Hosts Eighth Annual Student-Athlete Awards Show Wednesday Evening

Boca Raton, Fla. – Lynn University’s athletic department is set to host the eighth installment of its annual Awards Show on Wednesday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m. inside the Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center. The ceremony will honor the outstanding achievements of Blue and White student-athletes, presenting a total of 47 awards to both individuals and teams, as well as recognizing the Fighting Knights’ four new inductees into the Hall of Fame.

The major individual awards include Blue and White Athlete of the Year, Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Boca Raton Regional Hospital Comeback Player of the Year, Best Game Performance, Best Championship Performance and Mr. and Mrs. Fighting Knight.

Each team has also selected a most valuable performer and most improved individual, which will be presented in conjunction with the major awards. Additionally, a team award will be given out for the first time, the Social Impact Team Award, to the squad voted most involved in community service.

Former student-athletes Lacy Redwine (volleyball), Devon Woolard (volleyball), Daniel Young (men’s golf) and Beau McMillan (baseball) will be the Class of 2019 inductees into the Lynn Athletics Hall of Fame.

A dinner for the graduating Fighting Knight student-athletes will begin at 6 p.m. with the pre-show reception occurring following that at 6:45 p.m. The show is then slated to begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.
