Logan Burgess Hayes Joins Women’s Tennis Coaching Staff

Tampa, Fla. (June 9, 2023) – The University of South Florida women’s tennis coach Cristina Moros has named Logan Burgess Hayes to the role of assistant coach on the Bulls’ staff.

Hayes comes to USF after spending the 2022-23 season as a graduate assistant at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to joining UIW, Hayes was a volunteer assistant coach at Kansas State where he helped the Wildcats to a No. 28 national ranking and a top 25 recruiting class.

A native of Brighton, England, Hayes was a four-year letter winner for the men’s tennis program at the University of Illinois-Springfield. At UIS, he compiled identical records in singles and doubles play, going 45-36. As a senior, he finished 11-12 in singles, primarily playing in the No. 2 spot, and was 14-9 in doubles action.

In his senior year, he contributed to the best season in UIS’ program history, as the team went 13-5 and achieved national (No.36) and regional (No. 8) rankings for the first time during the NCAA era.

Hayes competed in Europe before attending UIS, achieving a No. 1744 ITF ranking. On the ITF Tour, Hayes recorded victories at the Brighton Winter Open, Woodford Wells Open and Devonshire Park Open, which accumulated to a 2.1 rating in the British National System.
