LIONS SIGN FREE AGENT WR/RB KERRITH WHYTE TO PRACTICE SQUAD

Allen Park, Mich.— The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed free agent WR/RB Kerrith Whyte to the practice squad and released WR Victor Bolden from the practice squad. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.
Whyte comes to Detroit after spending a portion of the 2019 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers after a stint on the Chicago Bears’ practice squad. Appearing in six games with the Steelers, he recorded 24 rushes for 122 yards (5.1 avg.) and returned 14 kickoffs for 264 yards (18.9 avg.). Whyte originally entered the League as a seventh-round selection (222nd overall) by the Bears in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Florida Atlantic.
