Julio Rodríguez of the Seattle Mariners named the American League Rookie of the Month for second consecutive month; Michael Harris II of the Atlanta Braves named the National League Rookie of the Month for June

Outfielder Julio Rodríguez of the Seattle Mariners has been voted the American League Rookie of the Month for the second consecutive month, and outfielder Michael Harris II of the Atlanta Braves has been voted the National League Rookie of the Month for June.

Rodríguez earned his second career monthly award and is the first Mariners player to win AL Rookie of the Month in consecutive periods since Ichiro Suzuki during his historic MVP Award-winning 2001 season in which he claimed rookie honors in five-of-six months. Julio became the first American Leaguer to accomplish the feat since this month’s AL Player of the Month Yordan Alvarez during his Rookie of the Year-winning 2019 campaign. The last Mariners player other than Rodríguez to win was Mike Carp in August 2011. Harris was awarded his first monthly award and is Atlanta’s first rookie winner since his teammate Austin Riley in May 2019.
