TAMPA (Sept. 18, 2019) – USF men’s soccer standout Javain Brown (Kingston, Jamaica) was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Men’s Team of the Week the website announced on Tuesday. Brown earned the honor after being named the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. The Bulls, 3-2 on the year, posted a 2-0 record last week with wins over No. 5 Louisville (2-0) and Lipscomb (3-1).
Brown was on the defensive side of the ball for both of the Bulls’ matches, and was a major factor in USF giving up just one goal on the week, and nine shots on goal, and shutting out Louisville. The Cardinals had won 3-0 in back-to-back matches coming into the game with the Bulls.
USF returns to the pitch on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m., when it travels to Jacksonville to take on North Florida. The Bulls return home on Friday, Sept. 27, for their AAC opener against UConn. First touch is slated for 7 p.m.
