JALEN DUREN AND JADEN IVEY SELECTED TO PLAY IN 2024 PANINI NBA RISING STARS GAME

 DETROIT – Jan. 30, 2024 – Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren and guard Jaden Ivey were selected to play in the 2024 Panini Rising Stars game at NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis, Ind., the league announced today. The game will take place on Friday, Feb. 16, at 9 p.m. ET on TNT. The pool of 28 players for the Panini Rising Stars consists of 11 first-year NBA players, 10 second-year NBA players and seven players from the NBA G League. The competition will consist of three teams of seven NBA players and one team of seven NBA G League players, who were selected by the NBA league office. The two semifinal games will be played to a Final Target Score of 40 and the final game, featuring the winners, will be played to a final Target Score of 25 to determine the tournament champion. Duren, 6-10, 250, is averaging 14.1 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 0.9 blocks in 29.9 minutes, which are all career highs, over 31 appearances (30 starts). The Sharon Hill, Pa., native ranks first among NBA sophomores in double-doubles (24), total rebounds (368) and offensive rebounds (103), second in field goal percentage (.642) and tied for third in blocks per game (0.9). Through 98 career games, the 13th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft has tallied 963 rebounds and 42 double-doubles, the third-most to begin a career in franchise history. Since Dec. 25, Duren ranks fourth in the entire NBA with 215 rebounds and tied for the sixth-most double-doubles (13). Ivey, 6-4, 195, has posted clips of 14.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 0.7 steals in 26.7 minutes over 42 games (26 starts). The fifth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft is one of three sophomores averaging at least 14.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game this season (Banchero, ORL; Williams, OKC). The South Bend, Ind., native has tallied 541 assists in his first 116 career games, which is the fourth-most in franchise history to start a career behind only Cade Cunningham, Grant Hill and Isiah Thomas. Ivey ranks second on the team with 600 points, third with 154 assists and fourth with 161 rebounds.  This is the second consecutive season that Duren and Ivey have been selected to the Rising Stars game, joining Andre Drummond, Brandon Knight and Greg Monroe as multi-time Rising Stars selections for Detroit.
