Jaguars vs. Colts Postgame Quotes: Colts DE Justin Houston

(On why the Colts couldn’t close out the second half strong) “We left a lot of plays out there, I think. That’s what we’ve been doing all year, not capitalizing on their mistakes. We had a couple opportunities to make a play where we didn’t, and it came back and hurt us in the end.”

(On what the Colts will think back to regarding close losses this season) “Motivation. I think we can learn from it. You look back on this season, because every game but one or two games we were in. We always gave ourselves a chance to win the game. You just go back and you learn, and you just hopefully get better and improve and learn from your mistakes.”

(On if he thinks the Colts are on the upswing) “I definitely do. We had to go on this season. A lot of things happened, like I said, at the beginning of the year, things that we weren’t planning to happen and they happened. To me, I think we had a good year, to surprise the way we did. Like I said, if we fix our little mistakes, three or four games, we win those games. It’s a different ballgame, when you’re one play away from being in every game.”

(On what he takes away from the Colts’ foundation as a veteran player) “I think it’s a great foundation. I see a lot of athletes here, and I just want to show the young guys how to work. It’s my first offseason just being with them from the beginning. If anybody hits me up, a lot of guys say they’re coming to work with me, so I’m just trying to give them advice and ways to get better.”
