Jaguars Sign RB Roc Thomas

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed RB Roc Thomasto their 90-man active roster, the club announced today. To make room on the roster, the Jaguars released CB Jocquez Kalili. Thomas is suspended for the first three games of the 2019 season (violation of the league’s substance abuse policy).

Thomas, 5-10, 198, attended Jacksonville State from 2016-17 and signed with the Minnesota Vikings as a rookie free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft. Thomas made the Vikings initial 53-man roster and played in five games, finishing his rookie season with eight carries for 30 yards to go along with two receptions for 21 yards.

A native of Oxford, Ala., Thomas played for Auburn from 2014-15 prior to finishing his collegiate career at Jacksonville State (2016-17). Thomas totaled 1,847 rushing yards and 20 TDs on 305 rushing attempts for the Gamecocks, including 1,065 rushing yards and 13 TDs as a senior in 2017. He was named first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference in both 2016 and 2017 and won OVC Offensive Player of the Year in 2017. Thomas prepped at Oxford (Ala.) High School and rushed for 2,211 yards and 32 TDs as a senior in 2013.
