Jaguars Sign QB Jake Luton to a Reserve/Future Contract (2-11-22)

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed QB Jake Luton to a Reserve/Future contract, the team announced today.

Luton, 6-6, 224, was originally drafted by the Jaguars in the sixth round (No. 189 overall) of the 2020 draft. He spent training camp with Jacksonville last season before being signed to Seattle’s active roster. Luton finished the 2021 campaign as a member of Miami’s practice squad. He appeared in five games, including three starts, with Jacksonville in 2020. In his rookie debut against Houston on Nov. 8, 2020, Luton threw for 304 yards, the second-most passing yards by a rookie quarterback in their debut in franchise history.

The Marysville, Wash. native attended Oregon State and played in 23 games, including 21 starts, for the Beavers, after spending one season at both the University of Idaho and Ventura College. He concluded his Oregon State career ranked fifth in school history with 42 touchdown passes and seventh with 5,227 passing yards.
