Jaguars Sign K Chase McLaughlin (11-10-20)

JAGUARS SIGN KICKER CHASE McLAUGHLIN TO ACTIVE ROSTER

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed second-year K Chase McLaughlin off Minnesota’s practice squad to the active roster, the club announced today. He will be placed on the team’s exempt/commissioner permission list as he goes through the testing and screening protocols and does not currently count against the team’s 53-man roster.

McLaughlin joins the Jaguars after spending the previous nine weeks of the season on the Vikings practice squad. He has appeared in 11 career games for the Colts, Chargers and 49ers — all during the 2019 season — and has converted 18 of 23 FGs (78.3 pct.) and 26 of 26 PATs (100.0 pct.). He was originally signed by the Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2019 prior to being released during roster reductions. McLaughlin earned First Team All-Big Ten honors and won the Bakken-Anderson Big Ten Kicker of the Year award for the 2018 season at the University of Illinois. The Cypress, Texas native holds the Illinois school record with five career field goals from more than 50 yards.
