Jaguars RB James Robinson (11-4-20)

(On QB Jake Luton praising him for his blocking ability and knowledge as a running back) “It feels pretty good to know that. Thanks for telling me that. Coming in, I kind of just came in thinking I have to know what I’m doing. I have to show that I can pass block because I knew there was some things coming out, people said I could, some people said I couldn’t. So that’s one thing that I really want to show that I could really do and I’m glad that he saw that I could do that.”

(On playing with QB Jake Luton in the game on Sunday) “I’m looking forward to it. [I’m] glad to see him in practice, he looks pretty good, so I just can’t wait until the game.”

(On preparing to face the Houston Texans for the second time this season) “I think it’s just as a whole, as a team, just finishing the game, coming out stronger. We all know we need to do that and the first half of the season we weren’t able to do that. So, I think for all of us, just coming out and playing fast and try to get ahead quickly.”

(On how he can help QB Jake Luton prepare for his first start) “Just let him know when he’s doing well in practice. So, I mean, if his throws are off, then just tell him just to relax and be confident and just go out there and play football because that’s all it is. For me, that’s all I wanted to do, went out there being relaxed and confident and just knew it’s just football. You’re on a big stage, but at the same time, it’s just football so just go out there and play.”

(On if the offense will change with a new quarterback and will rely more on him) “No, the game plan is whatever the coaches want it to be. I mean I feel like it’s still kind of balanced, so we’ll see.”

(On the difference between QB Jake Luton and QB Gardner Minshew II) “Other than practice, I haven’t really seen him in a game kind of setting, so we’ll just have to wait and see how that is with him.”

(On the excitement level of the team for QB Jake Luton starting this week) “Pretty sure we’re all pretty excited to see him go out there and play his first NFL game. It kind of sucks [Gardner] Minshew [II]’s out, but it’s the next guy up. I’m pretty sure he’s excited, so we’ll see how that goes.”

(On the possibility of playing a bigger role in the offense) “Like I said, the game plan is still kind of balanced, so we’ll see how that is going into the game. Just whenever I get the ball, I’m still going to make the most out of it.”

(On if there’s more he can do to help the offense) “I think I always go out there and play the way I know I can. I think just as whole, I want us to come out there and start fast and try to get ahead early, [rather] than falling behind and just trying to play catch up all the time.”
