JAGUARS PLACE FRANCHISE TAG ON OL CAM ROBINSON

JACKSONVILLE The Jaguars have placed the franchise tag on fourth-year OL Cam Robinson, the team announced today.

Robinson started all 16 games at left tackle during the team’s 2020 campaign as part of an offensive line that helped rookie RB James Robinson tally the most scrimmage yards (1,414) and the second-most rushing yards (1,070) by an undrafted rookie in NFL history. During the 2019 season, the Alabama product started in 14 games at left tackle, paving the way for RB Leonard Fournette to gain 1,674 scrimmage yards as Fournette became the first Jaguars player to post at least 1,500 scrimmage yards in a single season since 2011.

Robinson earned the team’s Ed Block Courage Award in 2019 after persistently recovering from a knee injury that sidelined him for the majority of the 2018 season. He started in 15 games during his rookie campaign in 2017 and all three postseason contests. The Monroe, La. native was originally drafted by the Jaguars in the second round (34th overall).

While in Tuscaloosa, Robinson started all 43 games at left tackle in three seasons and was a unanimous All-American and Outland Trophy award winner, given annually to the nation’s top interior lineman, in 2015. Coming out of West Monroe (Louisiana) High School, he was rated as the No. 2 player in the country by Scout.com.
