Jaguars Finalize 2023 Preseason Schedule (5-17-23) and Jaguars Make Roster Moves

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have finalized their 2023 preseason schedule, the team announced today.  The 2023 schedule is presented by Dream Finders Homes.

The Jaguars will kick off the preseason with back-to-back road matchups at Dallas and Detroit.  The preseason slate will conclude at TIAA Bank Field against Miami on Saturday night, August 26.

Under the NFL’s 17-game regular season schedule model, in 2023 all AFC teams will serve as host to the additional ninth regular season home game and only one preseason game.  As the Official Stations of the Jaguars, FOX30 and CBS47 will provide the Northeast Florida market with live telecasts of all preseason games.

Jaguars Make Roster Moves

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed LB Willie Taylor III, the team announced. Additionally, the team placed WR Jaylon Moore on Injured Reserve.

Taylor played for the XFL’s Arlington Renegades and recorded 11 tackles and 4.0 sacks in the 2023 XFL season. He played for Washington State from 2017-21 prior to transferring to Eastern Kentucky for the 2022 season. At EKU, Taylor started all 12 games and totaled 37 tackles, six tackles for loss, three passes defensed and 2.0 sacks. He attended Bleckley County High School in Cochran, Ga. and was named All-State honorable mention.

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed TE Sammis Reyes, the team announced. Additionally, the team released S Deionte Thompson.

Reyes (6’7, 240) initially entered professional football when he was signed by Washington in April of 2021. During the 2021 season, he appeared in 11 games making one start with the Commanders. When he made his NFL debut, he became the first player born in Chile to play in an NFL game. Reyes has also spent time on Chicago’s practice squad.

Originally from Talcahauno, Chile, Reyes played basketball at Tulane University (2016-18) and on the Chilean National team before starting his football career in 2021.
