JAGUARS AGREE TO TERMS WITH DEFENSIVE END/OUTSIDE LINEBACKER CASSIUS MARSH

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to terms with seventh-year DE/OLB Cassius Marsh to a one-year contract, the club announced today. 

“Cassius has demonstrated versatility and athleticism throughout his NFL career, and we’re looking forward to what he can bring to our football team,” said Head Coach Doug Marrone. “His ability to stop the run, play in coverage and get after the quarterback will add valuable flexibility to our defense.”

Marsh, 6-4, 254, was originally drafted by Seattle in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 84 career games (eight starts) and totaled 139 tackles (81 solo), 14.0 sacks and four forced fumbles. 

In 2019, Marsh played in all 16 games for Arizona and recorded 36 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Prior to playing for the Cardinals, Marsh spent time with the 49ers (2017-18), Patriots (2017) and Seahawks (2014-16). In 2018, he totaled a career-high 37 tackles and 5.5 sacks with San Francisco. 

The Simi Valley, Calif. native attended UCLA (2010-13), where he appeared in 50 games (38 starts) and registered 155 tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, five fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. He earned honorable mention All-Pac 12 honors as a senior after making a career-high 60 tackles, including 10.5 tackles for loss. He attended Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, Calif., and tallied 83 tackles, including 23.0 sacks as a senior. His father, Curtis Marsh Sr., was drafted by the Jaguars in the seventh round of the 1995 NFL Draft and played two seasons with Jacksonville.
