(On the team returning to play another game in London) “I think it comes from [Jaguars Owner] Mr.
[Shad] Khan and I think he has a passion to spread the game and play over here. Honestly too, as
players, we really enjoy it. The flight isn’t always the easiest over here with the time change and
everything, but besides that, we really enjoy playing over here. The fans are awesome. They always pack
the stadium, come out and support. It’s cool seeing all the different jerseys. [There’s] a lot of Jags fans
over here. Like you said, we’ve been playing over here for a while, so I think we really enjoy it.
Obviously, last year, I’ve only played one game here. I’m 1-0 so hopefully go 2-0 this year. That’s the plan
and we just enjoy being over here.”
(On playing with former Clemson teammate RB Travis Etienne Jr. again) “I think it’s been really good just
that we have that relationship already and I think it adds a level of comfort really for both of us and just
the way we can talk to each other. This is now our fourth year playing together, so that’s really cool just
having him back there. Then you kind of see him get more and more comfortable every week, starting to
make more and more plays. Just having a guy like him who can turn a 5-yard run into a 60-yard run with
just a little bit of space, that changes your offense. I think he’s going to, or I know he’s going to, help us a
lot. I’m just excited to have him back there. I think it’s been good for both of us just to have that
comfortability with each other, so it’s been really good.”
(On RB Travis Etienne Jr. returning to the field this year after missing last year due to injury) “Yeah,
there’s been a couple times. I think early on he’s trying to get his feet wet, still kind of getting into the
flow of the game obviously. He missed a whole season. [He’s] kind of get used to full speed, full contact,
the flow of the game, the speed of the game too. I mean it’s a lot different than college, so I think it took
him a second just to kind of get comfortable. But you’ve seen the last few weeks, really since early on in
the season, he’s been playing great. I mean you see flashes for sure. Like I said, if he gets a little bit of
space, he can make a huge play happen. He’s done a great job for us, getting better and better every
week and I think he’s going to continue to do that and it’s going to be really good.”
(On Head Coach Doug Pederson’s first season with the team) “[Head] Coach [Doug Pederson] has been
really good just from the way he leads. I think obviously there was an interesting dynamic after last
season going into the offseason, a lot of uncertainty with players, coaches, staff, everything coming into
OTAs. The way he was able to just kind of smooth everything over, came in, really gained the guys’ trust.
I think that’s one thing he did really well was he took it slow. He really gained our trust and we have a lot
of respect for him, the way he carries himself. He’s really upfront and you know exactly what he expects
of you. There’s no grey in what he asks of you to do, so he’s really clear. I think he’s a great
communicator. Obviously, that’s important for a head coach especially, and I think he does a really good
job, obviously with the staff and the players. Then being a quarterback and his background having
played in the league, coached in the league, won a Super Bowl as a player and a coach, obviously I have

a lot of respect for that. He knows how to get there, he knows how to do it, so I think that’s obviously a
bonus. He’s been really good for us.”
(On the change of environment when playing in London bringing positive energy to the team) “Yeah,
you can look at it that way. I think it’s good to look at it that way. You get a chance to come over here
and get to play somewhere different. Obviously both teams are traveling for this game. At the end of the
day though, it’s about what you do in those three hours on Sunday, and it doesn’t really matter where
it’s at, at what time it’s at, what day it’s on. You have to play well, and I think that’s just the focus right
now. There’s a lot of stuff going on, obviously the travel and the time change and getting used to
everything. But at the end of the day, come tomorrow morning, this is a normal schedule. Day before a
game, we have to focus in and get ready to go play on Sunday. I think we did a great job of that last year
and [I’m] really confident we’re going to do the same thing this year. At the end of the day, whoever
executes the best on Sunday is going to win.”
(On playing at Wembley Stadium) “I’m really excited. Obviously, I’ve never been there, never seen it. I
heard it’s incredible. [I’m] just really excited to be in there and play. That’ll be awesome, so I’m excited
to see it, excited to see all the fans come out and it’s going to be a fun day.”
(On facing the Broncos pass rush this weekend) “Every week the pass rush is good. I think obviously
there’s certain teams who have a really good pass rush and that’s kind of the strength of their team.
Honestly this defense is really good all the way around. Obviously, the pass rush is really good, but then
you look at their back end, the secondary, linebackers are playing great, so they’re all really, really good.
It’s just staying on schedule, not letting those guys get a chance to tee off on you and really rush,
keeping them on their heels. Obviously, it’s all of us, it’s the o-line, it’s me, it’s the running backs, it’s the
receivers being on time, all those things. We just have to execute and be clean and I think we have a
great plan for it. But yeah, obviously it’s a really good group upfront and we have a good plan for it.”
(On the opportunities the team has on Sunday) “[It’s] just another opportunity for us to show the team
we are in a different country, different stadium, different atmosphere, and we’re just excited for that.
Anytime we get a chance to play it’s special. You don’t get many of them, even more so being over here.
That makes it even more special so just trying to really take advantage of this opportunity, play our best,
and just obviously come out [of] here with a win. That’s the main goal coming over here. We’re excited
for the experience and to play there and all that, but the one thing is we have to come home with a
win.”
(On putting the team in the best position to win against the Broncos this weekend) “I think obviously
just your preparation and having confidence in that and trying to stay on schedule as best you can,
especially in a situation like this when your schedule gets thrown off a little bit with travel. Just really
sticking to your preparation and making sure you get everything done. For me, I think that’s where my
confidence comes from. If I feel like I’m prepared and I know our plan and I know the opponent, all
those things, I can go and play free on Sunday. If you don’t feel that way, then it makes it a lot harder,
and you have a little bit of distractions and you’re thinking a little too much when you’re out there. I
think it comes down to that every week and it’s going to be the same this week.”
(On the importance of winning this game) “You look at this season, we’ve had a little bit of adversity,
some ups and downs. We’ve played really well in a few games and not so well in a few games. We’ve
lost a lot of close ones. It’s a great time to turn that corner and go on a run right now. Obviously, look at
where we’re at in the season, almost right in the middle of this thing. This is kind of where teams start to

separate, so we have to make that decision to go and to execute, to play clean, to go and win those
close games down the stretch. I think that’s what it’s all about and we have the right guys to do it, but
we have to kind of turn that corner and make those plays and finish these games. I think this is a great
opportunity on Sunday to start that. But moving forward, we’re late in October, it’s time. You really have
to flip that switch and it’s about how you finish the season from here on out. Obviously the first seven
games were important, but these next ones are really important.”

(On the leadership of QB Trevor Lawrence) “Obviously it’s important because he’s our quarterback. He
has a tremendous amount of talent and the way that he leads in and out of the huddle. Those are
definitely bright spots. Everybody knows what kind of attributes he has. With him being that cool, calm,
collected guy in the huddle even in big moments, that’s to be commended for sure.”
(On the team environment being in London to play and practice) “I like it. It’s work, but at the same
time, it’s a change of scenery. Especially in the NFL and what we do, a lot of times everything is scripted
to a ‘T’, but this is kind of unscripted. Being out here, traveling out here, the whole bit, the experience,
everything, it’s all good.”
(On if players who have never been on this trip before were asking for advice) “I don’t think there was a
lot of advice given because I think everybody’s eyes were closing as we were walking here, but it’s
definitely a change. You can’t get around it. You’re going to feel tired, obviously with the big time
change, but once you come out here and move around a little bit, start to get some time off and go to
the city and stuff like that, you definitely wake up, but I know tonight everybody’s going to be knocked
out.”
(On CB Pat Surtain II and the Broncos defense) “We just need to play our game. Obviously he’s a good
young corner. I played against him last year, as well. Definitely has some great attributes and really
professional about his approach. Their defense, they have a good defense, they have an aggressive
defense, and they play the right way, and we have a good offense, so we can’t wait to play.”
(On playing in Wembley Stadium) “This is going to be my first time playing in Wembley, so I’m excited to
play there. It’s obviously a historical arena, so yeah, I can’t wait.”
(On the excitement of the fans who will attend the game) “Welcome! Hopefully we put on a show for
them. We’re always here with open arms. Everybody treats us well, amazing. The people are amazing,
so stay tuned. Hopefully you see a show like last year.”
(On if the game has become more physical over time) “It can be like that, probably more like that for
younger players, but yeah, of course, even if you’re not expecting a totally physical game, sometimes
those are the ones that are most physical and everybody’s on the ground, and it’s just combat. I
wouldn’t say it’s from a particular team that says like, ‘Hey, it’s going to be a more physical game than
another,’ it just happens. You have to expect that. You have to expect every game to have the max
physicality. You have to expect that in this game.”
(On if he is changing his routine up this year) “No, I think I’m just going to do the same thing I did last
year. Last year I had a pretty good game, and we had a pretty good game, so I’m not changing it up too
much. I took a little nap before practice. Going to go out to the city. My family is here. They just got in

from Disneyland Paris. My wife and my kids are here, so I’m going to go see them, play with them a little
bit, then when I get back here I am out.”

JAGUARS HEAD COACH DOUG PEDERSON
MEDIA AVAILABILITY
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2022

“First of all, I’ve been over here a couple times. I really enjoy the trip. If you’re an NFL fan, this is a great
venue, a great game to be a part of. For the Jaguars and the organization, and Mr. Khan and what he’s
invested in here, it means a lot to him. It means a lot to the organization. It means a lot to our players to
come over here and have such a great fan base here that support the Jags. We look forward to it, should
be a great crowd Sunday, and it’s something that our players feed off of.”
(On the planning for the international trip) “The two other times I’ve been over here, we’ve traveled on
Thursday. We got here today and keep things moving, keep things rolling. I really don’t think there’s a
right or wrong answer for when teams come over, but I enjoy the Thursday into Friday. It’s kind of
“shock to the system” once you get here, but we have a great team that spends a lot of hours putting
this trip together. It’s seamless. I’ve just got to get out of the way, let them take over, and they tell me
where I need to be.”
(On why he wants to travel late in the week) “Again, I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer. I like
sleeping in my bed for a couple more days. I like game planning and preparing at home with our offices
and the field and everything. It’s just my preference, quite honestly. Again, I don’t think it’s necessarily
the right way, that’s just the way I enjoy doing it. Get the days in and get the guys somewhat acclimated
the best we can and prepared before we make the trip over.”
(On the status of WR Jamal Agnew) “Yeah, he worked today, limited basis. We are going to try to push
him one more day tomorrow and see where he’s at, but if he can’t, then we’ll be back to where we were
last weekend with Christian (WR Christian Kirk) doing the punts and JaMycal (RB JaMycal Hasty) on the
kickoff returns and things of that nature. But we’ll see one more day, see where he’s at, and we’re
optimistic.”
(On if RB Travis Etienne Jr. will have a significantly heavier load this week) “I believe he can definitely get
more carries, more touches, but we’ve got a lot of faith and belief in JaMycal (RB JaMycal Hasty) and
Snoop (RB Snoop Conner) and that’s why we drafted (him). We’ve got him in here, so it’s going to be an
opportunity for him. We know Travis is going to get the bulk of the work, but at the same time, those
other two have to be ready to go, and we’re excited to watch those three play on Sunday.”
(On QB Russell Wilson) “I’ve coached against (Wilson) a lot, and that’s one of the things I appreciate
about him is his willingness to run and extend plays. He plays tough that way. I would expect that he’s
pretty close to one hundred percent if he takes the field. That’s something our defense has to be
prepared for. They’ve got to understand that when certain things break down, he’s going to take off and
run. We’ve got to make sure that we do our job, especially on scrambles, that we attach ourselves to the
receiver, number one, then number two, make sure that we limit the amount of yards that he can get if
he does scramble.”

(On if he plans to employ a spy to help neutralize Russel Wilson) “You want me to just give you the
whole game plan or what? I might have been born at night, but it wasn’t last night!” (joking with the
reporter)
(On what impresses him about RB Travis Etienne Jr.) “What has probably impressed me about Travis (RB
Travis Etienne Jr.) is we know his athleticism, we know what he’s done in college and his short time
playing last year, but I think the way he continues to develop and grow every single week. He doesn’t
make the same mistake twice, and that’s a growth mentality that he has. He’s a hard worker. He works
hard in practice. He wants to get better. He wants to learn. He studies. Those are all things that kind of
stand out to me. Obviously, this is my first year being around him, but those are things for a young
running back, how he also takes care of himself physically once he’s off the field, is a big part of that,
and he does a nice job there.”
(On how QB Trevor Lawrence has progressed) “Trevor is another one that is learning our system,
growing in our system. He’s got that growth mentality. He wants to get better every time he takes the
field. I think these last couple weeks he’s kind of proven that. He’s a great leader in the locker room, on
the field. A great communicator with us as a staff, and he really has embraced, I think, just new staff. In
three years, different coach, different coordinator, different position coach. These last three years and
how he’s sort of handled that and matured through that, and that’s hard to do for a young player. He
continues to get better, continues to grow, and I think the sky can be the limit with him.”
(On the mental aspect of being an NFL player) “That’s a big part of the game nowadays, is not only the
physical part of it, but the mental part of it as well. That’s something that we spend a lot of time helping
our players, providing the resources that they need if they’re dealing with something off the football
field, or maybe even the stress of playing sometimes can affect players. We’ve got a great team in place
with the Jaguars organization that does a great job of providing resources. They do a great job of
providing one-on-one counseling. They do a great job of the support away from football that these
players need. It goes a long way to be able to see the health, the mental health of these young athletes,
because there’s a lot of demands on their time, a lot of demands to play, social media is a real thing, and
there’s a lot of stress there and being able to handle that and sort of compartmentalize everything I
think goes a long way to the success they have on the field.”
(On discussions about and efforts on ball security) “Don’t fumble… It’s something that we talk about,
something we work on every week. We talk about it a lot. I’m the type of coach, too, I don’t want to
spend a lot of time talking about turnovers, interceptions, fumbles. I don’t want that to penetrate their
brain, and now that’s all they’re thinking about, so they become hesitant on the field. They’re
professionals. They understand it. We’ve got to take care of the football. We’ve been okay there. We
can be better, obviously. The guys know it, but we do reiterate it each week and work on it.”
(On if the team gets to experience outside of football while they are here) “I think this is a trip that does
a lot of that, what you’re asking. Yeah, we are traveling a long way into a different country, and it’s
really an opportunity for a lot of these players who have never traveled outside of the United States to
experience a different culture, a different world, a whole different lifestyle, and it’s positive. It’s good. I
encourage them to take advantage even tonight and tomorrow afternoon to experience that and do it
with their teammates. It builds more unity, camaraderie, the more chances the players can hang
together, then it will show up on the field eventually.”
