ITA Women’s Tennis Awards

The University of Florida and three players from the women’s tennis team have been recognized for their academic excellence in 2023.

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced the Division I Women’s ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams for 2023. Among the list of impressive All-Academic Teams from around the nation was the Florida Gators. Individually, Carly Briggs<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/carly-briggs/15339>, Sara Dahlstrom<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/sara-dahlstrom/15340>, and Sophie Williams<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/sophie-williams/15347> are also being honored as Scholar Athletes based on their outstanding scholastic achievements.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:

  *   Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
  *   Be listed on the institutional eligibility form

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:

  *   Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
  *   All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
  *   All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
