MIAMI (October 22, 2021) – Inter Miami CF announced today that the Club is eligible for Extreme Hardship due to injuries and suspensions and, as a result, has signed 2021 MLS SuperDraft first-round pick and Fort Lauderdale CF defender Aimé Mabika on a short-term loan for the match against FC Cincinnati on Saturday. The game is set to kick off at DRV PNK Stadium at 8 p.m. ET.
This will be the second occasion in which Inter Miami is eligible for Extreme Hardship, after also adding Mabika to the First Team roster ahead of the Oct. 9 match at the New York Red Bulls.
The 23-year-old Lusaka, Zambia, native has made 14 appearances, all starts, for the Club’s USL League One affiliate Fort Lauderdale CF this season, registering a total of 1,260 minutes played thus far, and captaining the team on more than one occasion.
The center back was selected by Inter Miami from the University of Kentucky with its 26th overall pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft. He made 62 total appearances for the Wildcats, recording 10 goals and contributing to 28 shutouts, while also being named team captain in 2019. He also earned C-USA All-Freshman Team honors in 2017, United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region first team and All-C-USA first team honors in 2018, and was named C-USA Player of the Year, C-USA Co-Defensive MVP and earned All-C-USA first team honors in 2019.

MIAMI (22 de octubre, 2021) – Inter Miami CF anunció hoy que el Club es elegible para una convocatoria debido a desventajas extremas por lesiones y suspensiones de sus jugadores y, como resultado, ha fichado al defensor Aimé Mabika de Fort Lauderdale CF, quien fue elegido con una selección de primera ronda en el SuperDraft de la MLS 2021, por medio de una cesión de corta duración para el partido contra FC Cincinnati el sábado. El encuentro en el DRV PNK Stadium está programado para arrancar a las 8 p.m. ET.
Esta es la segunda vez que Inter Miami es elegible para una convocatoria debido a desventajas extremas, luego de haber añadido a Mabika a la plantilla del primer equipo de cara al cotejo del 9 de octubre contra el New York Red Bulls.
Mabika, de 23 años, ha disputado 14 partidos esta temporada, todos como titular, con Fort Lauderdale CF, filial del Club que milita en la USL League One. El defensor ha registrado un total de 1,260 minutos sobre los terrenos de juego hasta la fecha, y ha capitaneado al equipo en más de una ocasión.
