Hartigan Named to D1 Power List

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Senior Mitchell Hartigan is the third Florida Atlantic University baseball player recognized by D1 Baseball. Hartigan found himself at No. 46 among the 150 outfielders named to the organization’s Player Power rankings.

Hartigan, who joins Caleb Pendelton and Nolan Schanuel as ranked players by position, is a four-year letterwinner for the Owls. The local product has primarily played outfield, but also has seen time on the mound.

He is a player that will always find himself in the lineup as an intelligent outfielder, with an above average arm and a consistent bat. Last season, Hartigan led the Owls with 19 doubles and was second behind Schanuel in nearly every other offensive category. Seven of his eight home runs came in C-USA games. His eighth homer was in the C-USA Championship in a win over Charlotte. Hartigan graduated in just three years with a 3.89 GPA in Finance, and he is a C-USA All-Academic selection.

His career numbers prove that consistency. He hit .322 as a freshman, .308 in a 2020 COVID-19 shortened season and .318 a year ago. His career batting average stands at .319. He has tallied 15 home runs for the Owls and has a .522 slugging percentage. Hartigan has primarily played left field but could make a move to right in 2022.

Hartigan and the Owls will open their 2022 campaign on Friday, Feb. 18 versus Minnesota.
