FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Jan. 15, 2021)– FOX Sports Florida, the television home of the Florida Panthers, will debut an all-new episode of “Inside the Panthers” on Sunday, Jan. 17 upon conclusion of Florida’s regular season opener vs. the Chicago Blackhawks. The season premiere of “Inside the Panthers” will introduce fans to new General Manager Bill Zito, who spent the past seven years building up the Columbus Blue Jackets before accepting the opportunity to lead the Cats.
Join host Jessica Blaylock as she takes viewers through Zito’s journey that brought him to Sunrise on “Inside the Panthers: Winning the Right Way.” Zito’s love for sports began back in 1982 at the age of 16 when he was bat boy for the Milwaukee Brewers. The experience was all he needed to kick start his interest in athletics. On the ice, he played with Hobey Baker Award Winner Lane MacDonald. Lane’s father, Lowell, served as a key mentor who taught Zito the intricacies of hockey. It was under Coach MacDonald that Zito learned how to win the right way, a lesson he’s carried with him his entire career. Zito’s game took him to Yale, where he played for a college coaching icon in Tim Taylor, but it was his passion and experience which ultimately led him to a co-found Acme World Sports. He spent 20 years building Acme into one of the most respected NHL player agencies.
Zito has spent the offseason adding Stanley Cup experience to the Panthers roster and organization to help execute the mission of bringing a championship to South Florida.
