Fort Lauderdale is opening a new testing site

The City of Fort Lauderdale is opening a new testing site that will more than double the COVID-19 testing capacity at city facilities beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, January 5th, 2022. The site will offer a choice of either PCR or Rapid testing at Snyder Park, 3299 SW 4th Avenue, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Testing will be free to all who drive or walk-up and no appointment will be necessary. Allied Health will operate the testing site under the direction of its medical director Dr. Humberto Hernandez. This is the first public/ private testing partnership the City has entered into with Allied Health in order to bring greater testing to Fort Lauderdale. The site is expected to process approximately 1,500 tests per day, more than doubling the 1,200 tests per day currently taking place at the City’s Mills Pond Park location. “With this new testing site, Fort Lauderdale is, again, demonstrating its commitment to fighting COVID-19 on every front, “ Mayor Dean Trantalis says. “Greater testing will allow us to follow the science to a safer place during Omicron.”
