OMAHA, Neb. – As day six of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials came to an end, Gator alumna Natalie Hinds earned a spot on the US Olympic Team in the 100 free.

Smith missed qualifying in a third event to compete at the Tokyo Olympics by .26 seconds, as he finished third in the race. Ryan Lochte finished seventh in the 200 IM final with a time of 1:59.67.
Natalie Hinds was 40th at the 2016 Olympic trials and came back to qualify for her first Olympics as she finished fourth in the 100 free with a time of 53.84.
“This is such a dream come true for me, it’s such a tough field,” said Hinds.
Caeleb Dressel won the 100 fly semifinal in record-breaking fashion, finishing with a time of 49.76. Dressel broke the US Open record for the second time in the same day in the race, earning a spot in Saturday night’s final.
