Florida’s Anya Pilgrim Repeats as SEC Freshman Gymnast of the Week

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Another performance ranking among the nation’s top freshmen all-around totals of 2024 earns Florida’s Anya Pilgrim her second consecutive and third overall Southeastern Conference Freshman Gymnast of the Week honor.

Pilgrim’s 39.525 set in Florida’s Feb. 16 win at the Mizzou at the Lou quad meet is her fifth addition to the top-10 freshmen all-around totals of 2024. Four freshmen have posted 10 all-around totals of 39.525 or better in 2024 with Pilgrim earning half of those totals.

Shared third at 39.525 in Mizzou at the Lou quad all-around competition. Highest all-around among nation’s freshmen last weekend

  *   Only freshman among Feb. 19 Road to Nationals top 15 all-arounders.
  *   Pilgrim is only freshman with five appearances among nation’s top 100 all-around totals for 2024.
  *   Competed five times as an all-arounder this season.
9.90 in three events at Mizzou to the Lou

  *   9.90 shared second in Mizzou balance beam competition. Fourth consecutive beam mark of 9.9 or better
  *   Also 9.90 for uneven bars and floor exercise. Third 9.9 or better mark on bars and second on floor
  *   Owns collegiate-bests of 9.9 or better for each apparatus.
Competed at both 2023 FIG World Championships and Pan Am Games (representing Barbados)
